ESTIMADOS PARIENTES: Quien no sabe quién es, es porque ignora sus raíces y si no tiene raíces, no tiene sustento, ni identidad definida, y en suma, no sabrá qué lugar ocupa en el universo. Desde hace años me dí a la tarea de escarbar en los más antiguos archivos existentes en búsqueda de la identidad de aquellos de quienes provengo. Así, me dí a la tarea de hurgar en los archivos parroquiales de la villa de Unión de Tula, la tierra de mi abuelo Antonio, de mi Bisabuelo Lorenzo y de mi Tatarabuelo Antonio, todos ellos Amaral y, de paso, al buscar mis orígenes, abrí la puerta para que otros muchos que comparten conmigo los lazos comunes de la sangre, la tradición, la cultura y la historia, puedan también asomarse al pasado para explicar el presente y para procurar el futuro. A mis parientes de otras poblaciones antiguas del sur de Jalisco como Autlán, Tenamaxtlán, San Sebastián del Oeste, Mascota, etc., les pido que hagan lo mismo y que publiquen sus descubrimientos. Las páginas del Clan Amaral están desde luego abiertas para ustedes. Dicho esto, pasemos adelante. Dear relatives: He who ignores who he or she is, is an ignorant of his roots. Unrooted, won´t sustain himself with a definite identity and, at the end, will not know his place in the Universe. Since many years ago I started to dig into a lot of ancient archives in search for the identity of those who preceded me. Thus, digging into the parochial archives in Union de Tula -the hometown of my grandfather Antonio, my great-grandfather Lorenzo and my great-great-grandfather Antonio, Amaral all of them to confirm myself of who I am, and while searching for my own roots I opened the door for many other close relatives sharing with me the bonds of blood, tradition, culture and history, so they may look at the past to explain their present in their way to the future. To all my relatives whose origins belong to some other close-by villages in southern Jalisco, say Autlan, Tenamaxtlan, San Sebastian del Oeste, Mascota, etc., I ask they follow suit and beg they publish their descoveries.
