Mujer dedicada a la política, natural de Rio de Janeiro, donde nació en 1953. Miembro del Partido del Frente Liberal, se presentó coaligada en un frente amplio denominado "Todos por Río" en las elecciones estatales. 

A politician, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1953.  A member of the Liberal Front Party. She formed a coalition seeking the post of Governor of the State or Rio de Janeiro, coalition called "All United for Rio".

A sido Senadora y Diputada en el Congreso Nacional, habiendo ocupado otros cargos diversos en el gobierno brasileño.

She has been  a Senator and a Representative in the National Legislature and occupied several other posts in the Brazilian Government.
